&descText=A large part of the trail and the Kalalau Valley were part of the Makaweli ranch, owned by the Robinson family in the 1940's. There are several orange trees along the trail. Oranges were planted by the paniolo (Hawaiian cowboys) along the trail and throughout the valleys.&
